The surfaces of the works belonging to the Modular series are portraits of time, they symbolize the sequence manifested in nature through the signs generated by the dynamic state of matter. The manifestation of transformation is a different unit of measurement of time whose direction is the result of irreversible mutation. Martini investigates the signs-symbols of the passing of time by representing their effects with dramatic aesthetics. The work marked by intervention (this time human) does not undergo decay but sublimation, bearing witness to the physical dynamics that regulate reality. The author celebrates the spontaneously generated material states, working by cyclical addition and subtraction of the ancient papers that thanks to their temporal age also contribute conceptually to the creation of the Modulari. The works reflect the chronological flow and are thus visual chronometers, devoid of hands, a characteristic peculiar to everything in nature that undergoes mutation. The individual repeated modules represent the metamorphosis that accompanies the perpetual linear passage of consecutive instants, and are fundamental physical elements whose conceptual component takes the created whole from spatial to temporal.

Temi: Ripetizione modulare / trasformazione / stato dinamico della materia / successione temporale e sua freccia / entropia dei sistemi fisici.
Le superfici delle opere appartenenti alla serie dei Modulari sono dei ritratti del tempo, simboleggiano la successione che si manifesta in natura attraverso i segni generati dallo stato dinamico della materia. Il manifestarsi della trasformazione è una differente unità di misura del tempo la quale direzione è il risultato di una mutazione irreversibile. Martini indaga i segni-simbolo dello scorrere cronologico rappresentandone gli effetti con un’estetica drammatica. L'opera segnata dall'intervento (questa volta umano) non subisce decadenza ma sublimazione, testimoniando le dinamiche fisiche che regolano la realtà. L’autore celebra gli stati materici spontaneamente generati, lavorando per addizione e sottrazione ciclica delle carte antiche che grazie alla loro età temporale contribuiscono anche concettualmente alla creazione dei Modulari. Le opere riflettono lo scorrere cronologico e sono quindi cronometri visivi, privi di lancette, caratteristica propria di ogni cosa che in natura subisce una mutazione. I singoli moduli ripetuti rappresentano la metamorfosi che accompagna il trascorrere lineare perpetuo di istanti consecutivi, e sono elementi fisici fondamentali la cui componente concettuale porta l'insieme creato da spaziale a temporale.
